Yesterday, it finally rained.
But with the much anticipated precipitation came an unexpected consequence. Remember that coon that got caught in the electric pole? Well, the combination of the coon shifting closer to the wires and the rain caused our power to go out. Luckily, Kb picked up our dinner from my mom on his way home from work.
Baked chicken on a bed of spinach with pasta. Mmhmm. And we had a good excuse for dinner by candlelight. The tv was off all evening, and the internet was unavailable. Technology is good and all, but I appreciate a little time unplugged. I blame my Amish roots. Kb didn't share in this sentiment. While my nose was stuck in a book, he was pacing and pushing the power button on the tv as if it might magically come alive without electricity.
After awhile, power was restored, leaving me just enough time to do the dishes before bedtime.
I was a little disappointed.
