What I've Been Looking for Lately

1. An elliptical.

There are several things that I miss about college. One of which is the convenient and well-equipped fitness center. I would say that it was free as well, but I know that I paid for it somewhere amidst my tuition. I visited the fitness center frequently and came to appreciate the elliptical throughout my time at college. It was easy on my knees and my belly, and I could get a decent workout. I've decided that I need one for my house. Kb agrees. He knows that I'm a lot less cranky when I exercise regularly. So I'm saving my fun money and checking Craigslist for a quality used elliptical.

2. A coworker.

My colleague in a neighboring cubicle is leaving our office to join a new unit within our agency. We will greatly miss her! She does investigations, like me.  Since she's leaving, there will just be two of us doing investigations. That extra person makes a huge difference, and now, all of a sudden, I am swamped. So I'm looking for a new coworker to take on investigations. Any takers?

3. A place to put this pallet.

I really want to slap this pallet on a wall and decorate it with pretty things, like this. The problem is, I can't figure out where to put it. I don't want to move my existing wall art, but I'm afraid some rearranging must be done if that pallet is going to be affixed to the wall.

4. A church.

I am keenly aware of our current lack of community.  No matter how much I study the Bible or listen to online sermons on my own, my efforts cannot take the place of being involved in a church community. This week we went to Granger Community Church with my brother. They sure are doing great things over there.  But I don't think it's for us. It's an hour drive from our house, and there's something about the word "mega-church" that makes me squeamish.

Churches have incredible websites these days. I can find out so much about a church simply by looking at their website. Not to mention, I can watch or listen to their Sunday service. We're going to check out Community Gospel Church in Bremen in person next week, and I've got a good feeling about it.

  1. I know what you mean about missing access to the "free" gym. I just told Gary not too long ago that if we move into another apartment complex, it would be nice for it to have work out facilities. Now it won't be the same as meeting up with to work out though. :(

Also love the idea with the pallet. That is so cool. I can't wait to see your finished project.
