Just when I thought the Dirtys did not leave us any pretty things, I am proven wrong. Tonight, I found this pretty little thing.
I don't know what it is and it's rather inconspicuous. But it's pretty.
Oh, and while I was out finding pretty things and playing with Bo, I met our first neighbor. An Amish lady was walking down the dirt road past our house...
Amish Lady: Is that dog mean? Will he bite?
Me: Oh no, he's never bitten anybody, and he's got like an electric fence. He can't even go out to the road. (I walk out to the road to demonstrate.) But he can have a scary bark.
Amish Lady: Yeah, he scares me sometimes.
Me: I'm sorry!
~ almost awkwardness~
Me: Do you live down the road?
Amish Lady: Yes, around the corner.
Me: Oh ok. My name's Allison and I live here with my husband, Kenny. We rent this house. We got married last year and then we moved here. (Shut up, Allison!)
Amish Lady: I see
Me: It's nice to meet you! (uh what's your name??)
Amish Lady: You too. Have a nice night!
Me: You too!
I was almost giddy. I've always wanted to be someone who knows their neighbors. The age of neighbors knowing neighbors is dying. But I want it to live on out here on this dirt road.
While I may not know her name yet, at least she knows Bo won't bite!
