Buzzing

Times have been tough at work lately. There's too much work and not enough people. Last month, my office got three new workers, and somehow, I still have a larger caseload than I am "supposed" to!

I was driving to Culver early this morning and mentally going through the list of tasks that needed to be  accomplished today when I realized that I double booked appointments and that I would most likely end up on the dreaded "overdue" list. Too much to do, too few hours. To be frank, it had me in a tizzy. My mind was buzzing, trying to make everything fit. Just when I was about to tuck tail and run the other direction, I came up on the edge of the little town of Culver.

One thing Culver is famous for is the Culver Military Academy. One thing the Culver Military Academy is famous for is the Black Horse Troop. Just outside of Culver is a large pasture devoted to the Black Horse Troop, and today it was full of horses.

My mind stopped buzzing, and for a moment, I was mesmerized. They are so calm, so at peace. It was the sight that I needed to see to put my mind at ease.

A few blocks later, I saw this and couldn't help but smile.

Not everything on the to-do-list got done today. But I completed all that I could, and that's just going to have to be ok.
