Leap Day

I have never given much thought to Leap Day. What's one day here or there. But this year that extra day was all I needed. See, all month I'd been looking for the warranty papers for my ring. To keep the warranty, I have to go to Zale's twice a year, August and February, to get my ring cleaned and inspected. If I don't make it to the store in those months with my papers, the warranty is gone. Poof. On the paper, there's even a line for each required visit that must be signed and labelled with the lady's official number.

They do this on purpose, I know. They expect that most customers will pay for the warranty, but not follow the rules, and they'll be the wiser.

But I did not want to be one of those. I was not going to be taken by the man!

Unfortunately, I was duped. I couldn't find the necessary papers this month. They weren't in all of my awesome paper hiding spots.

Until, Leap Day. A search for my phone beneath the car seats yielded the coveted papers! Never mind, that I live an hour from the big city with that Zales store.

Luckily, I've got an awesome hubby who even offered to drive. We left right away and hit up the Subway. Another perk to Leap Day: an extra day to take advantage of Febru"any." They even gave us a free cookie.
