A Tea Party

I have the best extended family ever; the Maust's are simply incredible.
They're genuine and care more than most. They have fun traditions and interesting new adventures.

This week was grandma Rosie's 82nd birthday. And we celebrated in style. My mom arranged for the gals to have an old-fashioned, fancy tea party. The hot tea and the several courses of cuisine were served on real china by Amish ladies (whom grandma recognized and discovered she was related to...surprise, surprise!).

The lady of the hour, complete with her tiara and corsage.

We sat for hours, chatting and sipping our tea. Even her gifts were exquisite: homemade bread, a Vera Bradley curling iron holder, and a new bottle of perfume. It's odd to think that one day my grandma won't be here to gather around the table. But for now, I relish each cup of tea.

Happy Birthday, Grandma. You are such a lovely lady.
